In collaboration with the Department of Media and Public Relations, the Student Activities Department organized a Ramadan evening for female and male students of the accommodation facilities under the patronage of the chancellor of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University (ATU), Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy.
The advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdel Hassan, the Director of the Department of Relations and Information, Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Muhammad Jabr Al-Aboudi, and the delegation accompanying them, as well as vice-chancellors and deans of university scientific faculties, attended the Ramadan evening.
In his speech at the start of the competition, Al-Zuhairy welcomed the Minister’s advisor, the delegation accompanying him, the honorable guests, and the students, wishing them a blessed Ramadan and adding that the university has taken promising steps in recent years on the path to success at all levels related to the educational process and its consolidation. He also said that these accomplishments cannot be credited to the person of the university president or the leadership titles in it, but rather to everybody since the work is done in the spirit of one team, stressing the institution’s former tagline (Tomorrow begins today).
Mr. Naseer Ahmed, head of the Student Activities Department, said that the evening contained numerous social, cultural, historical, and athletic topics and some interactive questions about the institution. The tournament finished in a draw with 14 points apiece for the female and male teams, and trophies were given to the two groups.
