It’s the 1st ATU conference of the Continuing Education Center under the blessing of His Excellency, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The conference proceedings were attended by the representative of His Excellency the Minister, Chancellor of the University of Kufa, Prof. Dr. Yasser Lafta Al-Agaili, and many Chancellors of public and private universities, including Jaber Bin Hayyan University of Medical Sciences, Theeqar University, Al-Karkh University of Science, Islamic University, Al-Mustaqbal College, Imam Al-Kadhim College, several deans of colleges and institutes in technical universities, the ministerial team for e-learning, several directors of continuing education centers in Iraqi universities and representatives of companies A collection of guests, students, and associates.
The conference aims to exchange experiences between universities in the field of training and developing skills using modern technologies, programs, software applications, and modern educational systems accessible to the educational institution to serve students, affiliates, and various segments of society.
The representative of His Excellency the Minister, Prof. Yasser Al-Agaili, explained the importance of developing staff and providing the skills and knowledge that match the labor market needs. He also pointed out the significant development witnessed by Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University in recent times.
The Chancellor of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University (ATU), Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, pointed out that the conference has the peculiarity of being concerned with an essential aspect of work in universities. The continuous education by focusing on capacity building for educational and training staff and students and society members.
It focuses on modern education and training techniques that meet the requirements of the current stage under the conditions of the pandemic and the transition between traditional education and electronic and integrated education.
The conference concluded by listing several recommendations. These included developing staff and students’ skills and knowledge and the gradual transition to an educational system that adopts technical certificates according to the needs of the labor market, in addition to investing in the field of artificial intelligence and strengthening the axis of training and rehabilitation for sustainability in higher education institutions.
