Within the framework of openness and communication with international universities, the president of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, signed a scientific and cultural memorandum of understanding with the University of Science Malaysia …

At the beginning of the signing ceremony, Al-Zuhairy expressed his thanks and appreciation to the presidency of USM University for hosting the delegation of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, and then provided a full explanation of the University’s vision, mission, goals and scientific disciplines that deal with it, pointing out that the University focuses in its philosophy on providing its graduate students with the skills required by the labor market as well as soft skills that are not covered by the academic vocabulary through the rehabilitation and employment center and the Continuing Education Center .

The president of the university also referred to the research activity and scientific conferences organized by the University and the international rankings in which attendance has been registered during recent years .

Al-Zuhairy said that the signing of the memorandum was in line with the ministry’s policy, represented by His Excellency the minister of higher education and scientific research, to build scientific and cultural relations with sober universities in order to achieve the desired benefit from joint cooperation and to identify the potential of Iraqi universities and improve their reputation in international forums .

The president of USM University of Malaysia welcomed the visiting delegation and then presented a historical overview of the university, its formations and its scientific achievements, hoping that the memorandum of understanding will benefit both parties .

The memorandum addressed the possibility of exchanging scientific experiences through the exchange of professors to conduct research, scientific meetings, lectures, discussion of theses and dissertations, as well as supporting scientific projects and training programs .

The memorandum included enhancing cooperation in the field of authoring and publishing joint scientific research in reputable journals within the international scientific resources, in addition to attending conferences, seminars, workshops, scientific and cultural competitions and participating in scientific activities and events organized by the two universities .

The signing of the memorandum was attended by the director of scholarships and Cultural Relations, Dr. Hashim Ali, and the director of the rector’s office, Mr. Mueen Mohsen Al-Rubaye .

At the end of the signing ceremony, souvenirs were exchanged between the two sides .
