Al-Zuhairy Inaugurates the IELTS Testing Center at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University

In light of the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Abedi, to open IELTS testing centers in Iraqi universities, and with intensive efforts from Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University and under the direct supervision of the university president, Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, in cooperation with the British Council, the IELTS testing center was opened today, Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at the university’s headquarters in Kufa, in the presence of representatives from the British Council, Mr. Hassan Hussein Al-Amiri, Director of the Center’s Business Development Department, and Ms. Sabah Hussein Al-Saadi, Director of the Examination Services Department.
The contract was signed between the two parties and the center was opened, equipped according to the standards and specifications approved by the British Council. This center is the first of its kind to be opened in the Al-Furat Al-Awsat region and aims to provide an opportunity for students to take the test as it is one of the requirements for admission to postgraduate studies inside and outside Iraq in medical, engineering, and scientific specialties.
It should be noted that the test dates will be announced on the official website of the university and the British Cultural Attaché at the end of this month (January 2024).
The opening ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Muhsin Al-Majtoumi, Vice President for Administrative Affairs, and a number of department directors at the university’s headquarters.
