Within the approach of openness and communication with Iraqi, Arab and international universities, the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, signed an executive agreement for joint scientific and cultural cooperation with the Northern Technical University, in the presence of its president, Prof. Dr. Alia Abbas Ali Al-Attar and the advanced staff of the university.

Al-Zuhairy said at the beginning of the signing ceremony that the signing of the memorandum of understanding came in harmony with the ministry’s policy represented by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in finding a real and effective twinning between government universities that achieves their elevation and elevation at the Arab and international levels.

The President of the Northern Technical University presented in her speech a brief overview of the scientific departments in the university’s formations, including the recent developments and what has been achieved in the recent period of scientific achievements and rehabilitation and reconstruction projects.

The agreement included encouraging both parties to establish and continue bilateral cooperation between the two universities and their scientific institutions
to ensure the achievement of twinning between them.

The two sides agreed to include the exchange of professors to conduct research, scientific meetings, lectures, discuss theses and dissertations, as well as support scientific projects and training programs, in addition to cooperation in the field of developing curricula in the corresponding departments for both parties.

The memorandum affirmed: enhancing cooperation in the field of authoring and publishing joint scientific research in reputable journals within the global scientific containers, in addition to attending conferences, seminars, workshops, scientific and cultural competitions and participating in the activities and events that are organized by the two parties.

The visiting delegation included Vice President for Scientific and Administrative Affairs,the dean of the Technical Institute of Najaf, and a number of directors of related departments, while the signing was attended by the assistants and a number of deans and specialists from the Northern Technical University.
