As part of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University’s digital transformation initiatives in all fields, Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, the university’s president, inaugurated the smart gate project for students’ entry, along with the assistant professors, deans of departments, and department managers at the university’s headquarters. They were received by Dr. Fadel Sami, Dean of Kufa Technical Institute, and his assistants, along with a number of institute members and students.

The new gate, which covers an area of 130 square meters, features two inquiry halls for female and male students, with 12 electronic gates that open with the university’s electronic card. It also has the ability to be used as a VISA card for electronic payment in all financial transactions inside and outside Iraq.

The university’s president noted that this project is the first of its kind adopted by the university and represents the first phase, where similar projects will be opened in other university departments within the geographical area under the contract signed earlier by the university with Arab Electronic Payment Company.

At the same time, he praised the efforts made by the institute’s deanship, the engineering unit, the reconstruction and projects department at the university’s headquarters, which supervised and followed up on the stages of work completion, and the computer affairs department at the university’s headquarters, along with the supporting circles that work to improve all aspects of performance to achieve a sustainable university environment.

On his part, Dr. Fadel Sami, Dean of the Institute, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the university’s presidency for the support it provides to all departments, confirming that the institute’s deanship is proceeding with the implementation of many reconstruction and development projects that serve students, teaching staff, and administrative staff alike.

The project’s opening ceremony witnessed a balloon launch event by the students welcoming the new year 2024, in which the university’s president participated with the wish of “a unified, safe, and prosperous Iraq”…
