A committee from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research visited Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University to evaluate the activities of Iraqi universities on the occasion of Global Entrepreneurship Week. The committee was headed by Prof. Dr. Thaer Muneim Hameed, Director of the Entrepreneurial Projects Management Department at the Research and Development Department.

The committee was received by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ghanem Wadai, Vice President for Scientific Affairs, and several department directors at the university presidency.

The committee reviewed the programs of the university presidency and its formations for Global Entrepreneurship Week, which included panel discussions, seminars, exhibitions, lectures, success stories, courses, and workshops in which professors, students, and graduates of the university participated, in addition to representatives of private sector companies and civil society organizations concerned with entrepreneurship.

On the other hand, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul Hussein Al-Dalimi, Director of the Academic Affairs Department, emphasized the importance of raising awareness among graduates and students about the significance of entrepreneurial projects and their role in the national economy of advanced countries, as well as the activation of technology incubators in universities to support the ideas of students and graduates, transforming them into successful and sustainable projects and companies.

The committee also accompanied the participants in a visit to the entrepreneurship course organized by the university presidency, where they met with the participants and listened to their impressions and the significant benefits they gained from the course. The committee also attended the course on “Entrepreneurship Requirements and its Impact on Technological InEchotion” organized by Al-Kufa Technical Institute.

In a related context, the committee inaugurated the exhibition of patents and entrepreneurial projects at the College of Health and Medical Technologies.

Furthermore, Wadai accompanied the committee on a tour of the university presidency, expressing their great admiration for the significant development in the university environment and infrastructure, and praising the distinguished efforts of the university presidency in this regard.

At the end of the visit, Mr. Imad Al-Din Hashim, the responsible person for the Technology Incubators and Ecosystem Division at the Research and Development Department, gave a lecture on entrepreneurial projects and the role of technology incubators in universities in supporting graduates and students, providing them with consultations and various types of support to become successful entrepreneurs in the future.

The committee members praised the great efforts reflected in the programs and activities held at the university presidency and its formations, and expressed their gratitude to the Vice President for Scientific Affairs for his hospitality and reception.
