The results of the Times Higher Education: Arab University Rankings 2023 have shown the progress of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, as it has climbed four places compared to the previous edition. According to the ranking, the university ranked 22nd out of 32 Iraqi universities and 161st out of 330 Arab universities. This progress is an indicator of the university’s influence on both the Arab and local levels, reflecting its reputation and impact through scientific research, which plays a vital role in solving societal problems.
Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, the President of the university, pointed out that this ranking is based on several criteria, including the quality of scientific research, research environment, quality of education, as well as academic reputation at both the Arab and local levels, in addition to the university’s role in serving the community. The ranking also indicates that Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University ranked fourth in the axis of research that contributes to solving societal problems, after the universities of Baghdad, Mosul, and Al-Mustansiriya.
On the other hand, this ranking reflects the university’s excellence in providing distinguished technological research that continues to serve various sectors of the state and society.
