Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy Inaugurates the Sports Complex on the University Campus in Kufa

As part of the university’s reconstruction and development efforts to enhance its educational and service infrastructure, Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, inaugurated the Sports Complex on the university campus in Kufa.
The official event was attended by vices president for scientific and administration affairs, deans of colleges and institutes, guests from other universities, department directors at the university’s headquarters, and a gathering of staff and students from various university departments.
The Sports Complex comprises eight sports fields for tennis, basketball, volleyball, badminton, and futsal, with a total area of 5000 square meters, and a spectator stand with a capacity of 300 people.
It is worth mentioning that the project was executed by the university’s engineering and technical staff, within a record period and using internal resources, optimized through the Higher Education Fund. During his address, the university president acknowledged the efforts of the university’s engineering and technical staff in accomplishing these important projects, which signifies a qualitative leap in improving performance levels and providing a model university environment, especially considering that student activities represent an essential component of the educational process.
In addition, the university has expanded its green spaces and gardens as part of its commitment to achieving sustainable development goals. The added green areas cover an area of 10,000 square meters, including the planting of palm trees and other evergreen varieties, with modern irrigation systems ensuring their water supply.
