Under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and under the supervision of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, the activities of the Iraqi Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University were launched today, Monday, on the occasion of World Entrepreneurship Week. The first event included a panel discussion entitled Applications of Entrepreneurship in Iraq.

The event began with a lecture entitled The Concept of Entrepreneurship and its Applications, delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Durgham Hassan Al-Abdali, in which he discussed the definitions of entrepreneurship, the specifications of the entrepreneur, and the risks to which he is exposed, in addition to the importance of small entrepreneurial projects in supporting the economy of countries and employing large numbers of graduates.

While the University President spoke about the efforts of the Ministry and the University to support graduates and facilitate their access to job opportunities, as well as providing administrative, scientific and legal consultations for their entrepreneurial ideas and facilitating their access to loans and financing.

His Excellency stressed that the university’s doors are open to all graduates and various specializations and that the required support is provided to them in all fields.

While the discussants in the panel discussion moderated by Professor Ali Abdul Hussein Al-Dalimi, Director of the Scientific Affairs Department at the University Presidency, discussed the reality of pioneering projects in Iraq and the opportunities available to graduates, with an emphasis on the quality of ideas submitted to technological incubators.

The success stories of the speakers and their startup companies were also reviewed, and advice was given to graduates and students in the field of entrepreneurial projects.

In conclusion, certificates of appreciation were awarded by the President of the University to the participants in the seminar.

The event was attended by vices president for scientific and administration affairs, the deans of the Najaf and Kufa Institutions, department directors and teaching staff, as well as university employees and a large crowd of graduates and students.
