The researchers from Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University and the University of Baghdad have been granted a joint patent by the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control for designing and manufacturing a device to measure the pulling force in tractors using Internet of Things (IoT) technology.

The invention includes the manufacturing of a hydraulic dynamometer that is not affected by temperature and humidity, unlike its mechanical counterpart. The device is capable of wirelessly transmitting data to the IoT network server, making it accessible to anyone who wishes to access it, regardless of their location or the type of device they use, whether it’s a computer or even a mobile phone. Additionally, the device can operate on any available mobile network, making it suitable for most agricultural areas in Iraq.

The patent aims to measure the pulling force in tractors while solving the problems caused by environmental conditions and the movement of the hitch point.

The patent can be used in various agricultural applications, such as testing, evaluating, and selecting suitable agricultural machinery, and it can also be used in other industrial applications that require measuring pulling force.

With its wireless connectivity feature, accurate and real-time data on the pulling force on the tractor’s network hitch arms can be obtained, which helps increase work efficiency and save fuel.

It is worth mentioning that the research team from Al-Musayyib Technical College consists of:
