The Women’s Empowerment Unit at the Technical Institute in Diwaniya, in cooperation with the Community Police Department in Diwaniya, held a seminar entitled, “The Family and its Role in Curbing the Drug Phenomenon.” The seminar was attended by heads of departments and a number of members and students The seminar showed the great role of the family and its importance from a legal and societal perspective, as it is the basic structure of society. The seminar noted that among the most important causes of domestic violence are weak religious awareness and the absence of family ties and a culture of dialog and consultation, which necessarily leads to poor education. At the end of the seminar, the door to dialog was opened, and many questions and inquiries were answered by teachers and students present.
