In the framework of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University’s efforts to accomplish the aims of sustainable development, the ATU Chancellor officially inaugurates the orchard project after restoration.
Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, chancellor of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, officially opened a seven-acre orchard on the university’s main campus in Kufa.
The palm grove, established in 2010, is home to roughly 150 palm trees in total. Recently, the university has restored it by plowing the field, giving it a modern irrigation system, building a water surface of 2,000 square meters with the approaches, and increasing the 3,000 cubic meters of water that can be used for irrigation purposes.
