To achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, and under the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s slogan of using clean energy and reducing emissions, the chancellor of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University (ATU), Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, inaugurated an exhibition of graduation projects for undergraduate students from the two scientific departments of Communications Engineering Techniques and Power Mechanics.
Al-Zuhairy, for his part, was intimately familiar with the students’ ideas, which comprised thirty (30) initiatives, the majority of which focused on renewable energy and communication technology.
He was impressed with what he saw as potential initiatives for students that qualified them to join the job market.
Al-Zuhairi also expressed respect for the research and projects submitted by students from different fields, including clean energy and sustainability research. Prof. Dr. Hassanein Ghani Al-Husseini, Dean of the College, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the President of the University for his ongoing support of the College and sponsorship of such projects.
Prof. Ahmed Ghanem Waday and Prof. Muhammad Abdul-Mohsen Al-Majtoumi, vice-chancellors for scientific and administrative matters, visited the exhibition. The occasion was also attended by the Najaf Technical Institute’s dean, Prof. Haider Hassan Al-Abdali, heads of scientific departments, academic staff, associates, and students.
