Prof. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy led the ministerial delegation to the University of Bologna, Italy, to attend a training workshop as part of the capacity-building project in higher education (Inspire), which included ten Iraqi universities and ministry representatives, as well as four European universities (the University of Siena, University of Bologna – Italy, University of Evora – Portugal, and Aydin University, Istanbul – Turkey
The INsPIRE project intends to accomplish governance practices in Iraqi higher education institutions, including institutional principles such as autonomy, accountability, participation, internationalization, and well-structured management systems to guarantee these practices are implemented.
Professor Dr. Ahmed Ghanem Waday, Vice Chancellor for Scientific Affairs at ATU University, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Najah Kazem, Director of Quality Assurance Performance Department, attended the session.
The five-day training program contains lectures on university independence, excellent management systems, governance, and quality assurance.
