Erbil Polytechnic University hosts the Second International Scientific Conference for Medical and Biological Technologies in partnership with Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University (ATU) and the Northern Technical University (NTU)

Erbil Polytechnic University hosted the Second International Scientific Conference for Medical and Biological Technologies in partnership with Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University (ATU) and the Northern Technical University (NTU).

The conference’s inaugural session witnessed the speech delivered by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education in the Kurdistan Region, Dr. Abdul Fattah Abdul Razzaq. He referred to the importance of scientific conferences whose research deals with exciting topics and serves the community in all fields. He expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the universities participating in the conference, emphasizing the importance of links between Iraqi universities and Kurdistan universities.

Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq al-Zuhairy, Chancellor of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University (ATU), spoke in English (the conference language), referring to the university’s policy to encourage and strengthen research activities. As a result, many scientific conferences have been held over the past two years.

He also indicated that the university calls on all researchers and graduate students to adopt applied and technical research that contributes to solving technical problems facing the industrial sector and, mainly, those related to health, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. He emphasized that researchers and academics should double their efforts to provide solutions and future visions to overcome these crises. He directed his thanks and appreciation to the presidency of Erbil Polytechnic University for hosting the conference proceedings.

Then Prof. Dr. Alia Al-Attar, Chancellor of the Northern Technical University (ATU), gave a recorded speech in which she pointed out the importance of partnership between universities.

Professor Kaveh Abdul Karim, Chancellor of Erbil Polytechnic University, gave a speech. He welcomed the attendees and noted the extraordinary efforts to prepare for this promising scientific event.

The Dean of the College of Health and Medical Technologies/Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University (ATU), Prof. Dr. Angham Jassem, stated in a statement to the university’s media that the topics covered in the conference included anthropology, health studies, disease sciences, nuclear medicine, and other medical sciences, and that the conference aims to exchange knowledge, scientific expertise and experiences among researchers in related disciplines.

The conference witnessed a wide presence of official and academic personalities, led by the Deputy Minister of Higher Education in the Kurdistan Region, the chancellor of the Middle Technical University (MTU), Prof. Dr. Abdul-Mohsen Naji, the Dean of Al-Mustaqbal College, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and many assistants and deans from Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University (ATU) and other universities, as well as researchers and academics.
