The Department of Student Activities at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University organized the annual marathon of its students in the annual plan at 10 am on Wednesday 9^th January 2019. The race was attended by Professor Dr. Abdul Kadhim Jafar al-Yasiri the president of the university, and Professor. Al-Sahlawi, the assistant president of Al-Kufa University who visited our university as well as the administrative assistant to the president of the university, Dr. Mohammed Abdul Mohsen Al-Majthoumi, and a number of specialists and students.

Associated Professor Ali Mohay Al-Tilal the director of the department said that the distance traveled by the contestants exceeded two thousand meters and that the first positions achieved by the formations were as follows; 1. First place (Technical Institute / Kufa). 2- Second place (Technical Institute / Najaf). 3- Third Place (Technical College of management / Kufa).

While the students won the top ten places individually are listed below;

1 – student Sajjad Jabbar / 1^st / Technical institute / Kufa.

2 – Student Ali Salem / 2^nd / Technical Institute / Kufa.

3 – Student Ali Fadel Abbas / 3^rd / Technical College of management / Kufa.

4 – Student Amir Rasul Abdul Rida / 4^th / Technical College of management / Kufa.

5 – Student Mortada Abdul Rahman / 5^th / Technical Institute / Qadisiya.

6 – Student Safa Fleih / 6^th / Technical Institute / Najaf.

7- Student Ammar Jamil / 7^th / Technical Institute / Najaf.

8- Student Hassan Nour Abdul / 8^th / Technical Institute / Najaf.

9 – Student Hassanein Mery / 9^th / Technical Institute / Karbala.

10 – Student Saad Hamid / 10^th / Technical Institute / Karbala.

In conclusion, the President of the University awarded prizes to the winning teams and the winning students and ordered a letter of thanks and appreciation to the associated professor Hameed Shamki Ghazi / Technical College of management / Kufa, Mr. Mohammed Ali Mohammed / Technical Institute / Najaf and Mr. Jamal Karim Jaafar / Technical Institute / Kufa, as well as the disbursement of financial rewards for the winners.
