Established in 2004, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of Al-Najaf-Kufa, Republic of Iraq. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research/Republic of Iraq and the Technical Education Authority which was founded in 1969. Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University includes four technical colleges and seven technical institutes in different disciplines (medical, engineering, administrative, agricultural and applied arts) which are distributed over five major cities located within Al-Furat Al-Awsat province of Iraq namely “Al-Najaf – Babylon – Karbala – Diwaniyah and Al-Muthanna cities”. Al-Furat Al-Awsat technical university offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as technical bachelor degrees, master degrees, and doctorate degrees in several areas of study. It has 950 academic staff members with master and doctorate qualifications and 3200 employees with bachelor degree and technical diploma.
